APU hit Snizhne with previously unknown HIMARS missiles

Unknown HIMARS missiles hit the city of Snezhnoye.

This afternoon, the territory of the city of Snizhne, located on the eastern outskirts of the Donetsk region, was hit with the use of MLRS HIMARS. Taking into account the fact that the minimum distance from Snizhne to the nearest positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from where a strike could be struck, is more than 90 kilometers, while the longest-range GMLRS missile available to the Ukrainian military is capable of hitting targets only at distances up to 84 kilometers, these strikes raise a number of questions.

In the photographs you can see the consequences of the HIMARS MLRS strikes on the city of Snezhnoye. The fact that we are talking about American missiles is evidenced by the corresponding submunitions and inscriptions preserved on the missile, however, it is not known what type of missiles were used by the Ukrainian military.

The maximum range of the M31 missiles for the HIMARS MLRS in service with Ukraine is 84 kilometers. Considering that Ukrainian launchers had to be at a distance of at least 5-7 kilometers from the front line for safe strikes, the missile had to fly at least 90 kilometers, which is recorded for the first time.

There are no official statements on this matter, however, Ukraine could well have received ER-GMLRS missiles from the United States, with a range of 150-170 kilometers.
