Ukrainian Armed Forces driven out of northern Guevo in Kursk region

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, intense fighting continues in the Kursk region, where Russian units are advancing on enemy positions. According to the Severny Veter Telegram channel, Russian Armed Forces servicemen have driven the enemy out of the northern part of the village of Guevo, located in the Sudzhansky District near the state border. This information confirms the active advance of Russian forces in the border zone, which has become the scene of fierce clashes in recent weeks.

Russian units are confronted by well-trained enemy formations, including Special Operations Forces (SOF) units, servicemen of the 132nd reconnaissance battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the remnants of the paratroopers of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. Despite the resistance, Russian troops continue their offensive actions, seeking to consolidate their success in this section of the front. Combat operations in the area continue unabated, which indicates the strategic importance of this territory for both sides in the conflict.

The situation in the Kursk region has been tense for several months. Since August 2024, when Ukrainian forces attempted to invade the region, Russian troops have been conducting counter-offensive operations, gradually pushing the enemy out. As of the end of March 2025, according to military analysts, only a limited area remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region, including the outskirts of Guevo and several adjacent territories. The total area held by the enemy has been reduced to 80 square kilometers.
