The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost four Bogdan self-propelled guns in a week

It became known that in the Kharkov direction Russian troops destroyed several Ukrainian wheeled self-propelled howitzers 2S22 “Bogdan” of 155 mm caliber. These artillery systems are among the newest in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' arsenal. As of 2024, Ukraine had only four such units, however, according to the American newspaper New York Times, by April of this year, Ukraine had established a monthly production of eight such self-propelled guns.

Videos have appeared on the Internet demonstrating the process of destroying Ukrainian self-propelled guns using loitering munitions (kamikaze UAVs) of the Lancet family. The footage shows how fighters of the Russian group of forces “North” hit a 2S22 “Bogdan” self-propelled gun located in a wooded area near the village of Pitomnik.

The video shows how the crew of the Ukrainian artillery system, having fired back, tries to hide together with the self-propelled gun in a wooded area. The Ukrainian military quickly changed their firing position several times and tried in every possible way to confuse Russian aerial reconnaissance. However, the self-propelled gun was tracked down and destroyed by a well-aimed hit from loitering ammunition.

Three more self-propelled guns were destroyed in a similar way, which became a serious problem for Kyiv.
