The Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed elite forces to the border area of the Kursk region

The Ukrainian command has begun redeploying Special Operations Forces (SOF) units to the Kursk sector, designed to carry out complex missions behind enemy lines. According to sources, the European-trained troops were called in due to personnel problems and a shortage of reserves. However, according to information from the Russian side, their attempts to counterattack were met with a tough rebuff from artillery and drone operators.

The peculiarity of the use of the SOF is their specialization in covert operations in the rear, reconnaissance and sabotage activities. Direct participation in combat operations on the contact line, especially in conditions of intense artillery fire, contradicts their main tasks. Despite high training, such conditions are extremely difficult for these elite units.

In addition to the SOF, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to mobilize additional forces, including airmen, who are being redirected to carry out infantry tasks. This step, as analysts note, indicates that the Ukrainian side is facing a shortage of trained fighters in key areas.

According to Russian sources, the actions of Ukrainian elite units are supported by mobilized servicemen, but many of them are unprepared for intense fighting. It is alleged that a significant part of the mobilized ones surrender, which further complicates the execution of combat missions.

Particular attention is paid to the use of modern reconnaissance systems and drones on the Russian side. UAV systems such as the S350 Supercam and ZALA allow for effective detection of targets by thermal imaging, regardless of the fighter's level of training. This reduces the advantages of the special forces, which traditionally rely on stealth and maneuverability.
