The US Air Force launched strikes on the western part of Syria, near the city of Bennish

The US Air Force launched at least two missile strikes in western Syria.

A few hours ago, the US Air Force attacked the highway connecting Idlib and the city of Bennish, located in the western part of the Arab Republic. The strikes were carried out using the MQ-9 Reaper strike and reconnaissance drone. At the same time, during the attack, the US Air Force used Syrian airspace, controlled by the Syrian military and Russian air defense systems, located 70-80 kilometers from the strike site.

As it became known, the American strike and reconnaissance tactical drone MQ-9 Reaper delivered at least two strikes approximately in the middle of the highway connecting Bennish and Idlib.

Shortly before the attack, an unknown aircraft could be observed in the sky, which turned out to be an American drone. The United States confirmed the fact of a strike on Syria, noting that we are talking about a special operation to eliminate a high-ranking terrorist.

“U.S. Central Command forces struck in the province of Idlib, Syria, eliminating Abu Hamza al-Yemeni, a high-ranking leader of Khurras al-Din, a terrorist organization associated with al-Qaeda (banned in Russia - ed. note) .). Abu Hamza al-Yemeni was riding alone on a motorcycle at the time of the attack. Initial check indicates no civilian casualties.", the US Central Command said in a statement.

At the same time, it remains unknown whether the United States coordinated its operation with the Russian military, since there are no official statements on this matter yet.
