The Ukrainian TV channel TSN published a video that captured the moment the Ternovskaya dam of the Kurakhovsky reservoir was blown up. The footage, filmed by military correspondent Yulia Kiriyenko, shows a powerful explosion in the area of ​​the dam's water locks, after which a significant hole was formed in the road surface. The destruction caused an intense flood of the Volchya River, which, however, did not lead to significant consequences for the population, thanks to the timely evacuation of most residents from adjacent settlements.

The evacuation of the population was organized in advance, which minimized the risk to civilians. Rescue services continue to monitor the situation on site, assessing possible threats to the remaining structural elements of the reservoir.
