A powerful explosion occurred at a gas station in Grozny in the area of Akhmatovsky Prospekt Mohammed Ali. According to local sources, the incident was caused by the ignition of one of the fuel tanks, which led to a detonation and a serious fire. The second tank, located on the territory of the gas station, was promptly de-energized and spilled to prevent another explosion.
Eyewitnesses claim that the explosion was so powerful that its sounds were heard in neighboring blocks, and thick clouds of black smoke rose from the scene. Local public groups are calling on residents not to approach the scene, as the situation remains tense. Despite the localization of the fire, fire services continue to work on the site, monitoring possible new sources of fire and ensuring the safety of the surrounding area.
According to preliminary data, there were no casualties as a result of the incident, however, the information is being clarified, as the work at the site of the explosion has not yet been completed. Representatives of emergency services also report that at the moment the situation is under control and there is no threat of further explosions.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations, police and medical personnel are working at the scene. The fire was localized, but rescuers continue to cool the tank to prevent a second detonation and the spread of fire to neighboring objects. The area around the gas station has been cordoned off, and residents of nearby houses have been evacuated for safety reasons.
