An explosion has thundered in the capital of Dagestan, the epicenter of which was an apartment building on Gaptsakhskaya Street. According to preliminary data, several apartments were seriously damaged as a result of the incident, which caused alarm among local residents and authorities. At the moment, there is no exact information about the victims, which only increases tension in the area of ​​the incident. The reasons for the incident remain unclear and the lack of official explanations from the competent authorities gives rise to numerous questions from the public and the media. 

Eyewitnesses report a loud bang, followed by screams and the sound of collapsing structures. The damage affected not only the interior, but also the façade of the building, indicating a significant explosion force. So far, authorities have not disclosed what could have been the detonator - household gas, equipment malfunction or other factors - leaving room for speculation and concern among city residents.

In December 2024, a gas explosion was recorded in a residential building on Abubakarov Street in Makhachkala. At that time, 40 people were evacuated from the building, and the victims were a man and a 9-year-old child who received moderate injuries. The cause of that incident was said to be a gas-air mixture explosion on the third floor. Even earlier, in January 2024, a gas explosion in a private home took the lives of a family of five, including three children, which became a tragic reminder of the risks associated with gas equipment.
