Telegram channels and war correspondents report a series of explosions in Grozny, the capital of the Chechen Republic, on December 12. In particular, war correspondent Pavel Bely published footage that allegedly shows Ukrainian drone strikes on a facility in the city. The report says:
“Footage has emerged that allegedly shows the moment a UAV struck the building of the second regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Grozny.”
At the moment, officials in Chechnya and the Russian Defense Ministry are not commenting on this information. However, the disseminated footage and messages are attracting public attention, especially since Ukrainian UAVs have previously attacked Grozny. If the information is confirmed, this will be another case of unmanned vehicles reaching significant depths in Russia. Similar attacks have previously been recorded in Taganrog, Belgorod and Kursk regions.
The Ukrainian side has not yet commented on the events in Grozny. However, experts associate the possible attack with the increased activity of Ukrainian forces in striking strategically important objects of Russia. In particular, the use of drones allows attacking targets located far behind the front line and causing significant damage.
