Explosions in Belarus: Kamikaze UAV Shot Down Over City

On the night of February 13, 2025, a kamikaze drone was shot down in a city in the south of Belarus. The first reports of this appeared on social networks, where footage of the drone being shot down was published. The incident caused panic among the local population, who heard loud bangs and a characteristic buzzing sound in the sky.

"We are recording panic among local residents. People are hearing claps and the sound of drones, but they do not understand what is happening," one of the messages says.

It later became known that the debris from the downed drone fell on the city's territory.

The exact details of the incident have not yet been disclosed, and the name of the city has not been reported, but footage published by eyewitnesses confirms that debris fell within the city limits. There are currently no reports of casualties or significant damage to infrastructure. Belarusian officials have so far refrained from commenting on the matter.

In March 2024, an unmanned aerial vehicle, presumably an attack type, was shot down near Gomel. This incident attracted attention because the drone was equipped with an explosive device. According to preliminary data, its target may have been transport infrastructure facilities.
