Israel Explosions: Death toll from Iranian Strikes Reaches 195

On the night of June 15, 2025, Iran launched a series of missile strikes on Israeli territory in response to the Israeli attack on nuclear facilities in Isfahan and Natanz. According to the latest data provided by the Israeli rescue service Magen David Adom and the Israeli Ministry of Health, the number of casualties as a result of the night shelling has risen to 195 people. Five people died, including two children aged 8 and 10. The debris from the sites of the missile impacts is still being cleared, and the authorities do not rule out that the number of victims may increase.

The Iranian attack was in response to Israel’s Operation Rising Lion on June 13, which destroyed key nuclear facilities in Isfahan, including a uranium processing plant and a fuel plate production facility. According to Iranian officials, the Israeli strikes killed at least 12 scientists and workers at the nuclear complex. Tehran viewed Israel’s actions as an “act of war” and launched more than 15 missiles and drones at Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem, on the night of June 150.

According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted about 70% of the rockets fired, but a significant portion of the munitions reached their targets. Residential areas of Tel Aviv and the suburbs of Haifa were the main targets. A family of three, including two children aged 8 and 10, were killed when a rocket directly hit an apartment building in the Ramat Gan neighborhood. Two more civilians were killed in the shelling of an industrial area in Haifa, according to the IDF. Among the victims, 43 were seriously wounded, most of whom are in Sheba and Ichilov hospitals. Rescue services continue to clear away the rubble, under which there may presumably be survivors.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement calling the Iranian attack an “act of terrorism” and promising a “strong and immediate response.” He said Israel was already preparing a new operation that would “inflict damage on Iran that it will not recover from for decades.” Defense Minister Yoav Galant said the IDF had been put on high alert and the Israeli Air Force had begun preparing for new strikes on Iranian military and strategic targets.
