Avia.pro journalists had at their disposal a video filmed by local residents, which recorded airstrikes in the Kursk region. The footage shows military aircraft in the sky and a car with fuel burning on the side of the road. These events occurred during an attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) to break through into the territory of the Kursk region.

Earlier, the acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexey Smirnov, confirmed information about attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through into the region. He noted that Russian forces took all necessary measures to repel the attack. Smirnov also called on residents to remain calm and trust only official sources of information.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces committed an “armed provocation” on the border with the Kursk region. Representatives of the FSB noted that border settlements were shelled, which caused concern among local residents.

According to FSB statements, the armed provocation occurred on the morning of August 6, 2024. Ukrainian forces used various types of armored vehicles, including tanks, and attempted to operate in small groups, advancing towards the settlements of Goncharovka and Kurilovka. However, Russian border guards and the Russian Armed Forces managed to repel the attack and stop the enemy’s advance.
