Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region reported a series of explosions that were heard in the area of ​​the Savasleika airbase. According to eyewitnesses, the number of explosions was about ten, which caused serious concern among the local population. In connection with the incident, the area near the air base was quickly closed off to ensure security.

Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin confirmed the information about the drone attack and said that air defense (air defense) and electronic warfare (EW) systems are operating in the Kulebak district. These measures are aimed at suppressing the attack and minimizing its consequences. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties as a result of the incident.

The attack on the Savasleika air base is part of a wave of drone attacks that have recently been increasingly recorded in various regions of Russia.
