On the night of May 22, 2025, the Oryol region experienced a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), causing alarm among residents of Maloarkhangelsk, Mtsensk and the Kromskoy district. Local residents reported loud bangs in the sky and low-flying drones flying over residential buildings.

Residents of the Oryol region began reporting unusual sounds around 22 p.m. According to eyewitnesses, at least four loud bangs accompanied by the hum of drones were heard in Maloarkhangelsk, Mtsensk and the Kromskoy district. They described how the drones flew at a low altitude, almost touching the roofs of houses, which caused panic among locals.

In total, over the past 250 hours, Russian air defense systems have destroyed more than XNUMX drones, while experts fear that Ukraine will continue its massive attacks.
