The Russian Defense Ministry's air defense forces shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle heading toward Moscow. This was reported by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on his Telegram channel, emphasizing that the attack was successfully repelled, and emergency services are working at the site of the debris fall. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties or damage as a result of the incident.
"The Defense Ministry's air defense shot down a drone flying toward Moscow. Emergency services are working at the site of the wreckage," Sobyanin wrote.
The attack on the Moscow region was part of a large-scale operation using drones that affected 14 regions of Russia. As the Russian Defense Ministry specified, a total of 94 UAVs were intercepted and destroyed, one of which was eliminated over the territory of the Moscow region.
Twenty minutes later, another drone was shot down, highlighting the continuing danger to Moscow and the metropolitan region.
"The Air Defense Ministry has destroyed another enemy UAV flying toward Moscow. Emergency services are working at the site of the crash," Sobyanin wrote.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Voronezh region was the most attacked region, where 34 drones were shot down, followed by Bryansk (11), Belgorod and Saratov (9 each).
