The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the interception and destruction of 16 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Russian territory in the last hour. This operation was a continuation of the air defense's nightly activity, during which 130 drones were shot down across the country. The breakdown of downed UAVs is as follows: six UAVs were destroyed over the Kaluga Region, five over the Bryansk Region, four over the Moscow Region, including three drones aimed at Moscow, and one over the Tambov Region.

The announcement comes amid a continued escalation of attacks from Ukraine, particularly following massive airstrikes in the Rostov region, Moscow, and other regions. The increased air defenses, including restrictions at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Zhukovsky airports, reflect the gravity of the situation.
