The Russian Federal Security Service reported the arrest of 39 people suspected of inciting teenagers to attack educational institutions. According to the FSB, the detainees include both adults and minors aged 14 and over. Most of them were drawn into radical activity with the help of Ukrainian curators operating through the Discord messenger.
According to the intelligence services, nine teenagers were already actively preparing to carry out attacks, and the plans were coordinated from abroad via the specified messenger. During the searches, firearms and bladed weapons, as well as components for creating improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were seized from the detainees. The FSB notes that all the prepared actions were aimed at mass murders in Russian schools.
At the same time, Roskomnadzor sent a request to Discord to remove 947 illegal materials containing calls for violence and propaganda of radical ideas. On September 30, the messenger was fined 3,5 million rubles for failure to fulfill the duties of the owner of a social network in accordance with Part 2 of Article 13.50 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
Law enforcement agencies continue their investigation, establishing the connections of the detainees with foreign structures and possible plans for further crimes.
