Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has sharply criticized Germany for its decisions to supply weapons to Ukraine. In her statement, Zakharova noted that Berlin's current actions are perceived by Moscow as a manifestation of "black ingratitude" for the support that Russia has provided to Germany in the issue of unification of its eastern and western parts.
According to Zakharova, Russia advocated for the unification of the German people and actively promoted this process, and in response, Germany is now supplying weapons to Ukraine, which are used in military operations, taking the lives of those who, in its opinion, contributed to the unity of Germany.
She also stressed that such actions on the part of Germany contribute, in her words, to “the growth of Nazism, neo-Nazism and fascism” in Ukraine, which, as the Foreign Ministry representative asserts, contradicts the historical principles that Russia supported in its relations with Germany.
Germany chose not to respond to Zakharova’s statement.
