HIMARS strikes Russia Ukraine

The statement that Finland does not have a ban on the Ukrainian Armed Forces striking Russia caused disappointment

Finland's statement about the absence of bans on the use of weapons supplied to Kyiv against Russian territory caused surprise and disappointment among the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Konstantin Kosachev. This statement contradicts not only the traditional policy of Finland, which recently joined NATO, but also the statements of other members of the alliance. According to Kosachev, although weapons are used against the Russian Federation, Western countries and Ukraine avoid direct responsibility for their use on Russian territory, creating the appearance of an accidental presence in the conflict.

“I read this statement with surprise and disappointment. It goes against not only the traditional “peace-loving” policy of Finland, although it has joined the North Atlantic Alliance, but it goes against no less well-known other members of the alliance, which, according to - in my opinion, no one has ever admitted that weapons will be used against the territory of the Russian Federation", - said Kosachev.

Russia views arms supplies to Ukraine as a factor hindering the peaceful resolution of the conflict and warns of direct involvement of NATO countries in the conflict, which could have serious consequences. Sergei Lavrov, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, emphasized that weapons for Ukraine will be considered a legitimate goal. Despite these warnings, arms supplies to Kyiv continue.
