Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is heading to the White House to meet with Donald Trump to convince him of the need to supply weapons and aid to Kyiv. Bloomberg reports that the Ukrainian side has prepared a list of proposals that could be key to unlocking support amid Russia's intensifying aggression.
The agenda for the meeting, scheduled for Friday, includes discussions of air defense systems, long-range weapons, and urgent energy assistance. According to the publication, Moscow is intensifying attacks on Ukraine's water and gas infrastructure ahead of the onset of winter, making these requests especially urgent. Zelenskyy hopes to use his recent phone call with Trump, which focused specifically on air defense, as a basis for a broader dialogue.
In response, Ukrainian officials are offering Washington a "menu of temptations": sharing expertise in drone technology and production, including the possibility of establishing Ukrainian drone production in the United States or Europe. This will allow American companies access to Kyiv's advanced developments accumulated during the conflict. Furthermore, the agenda includes the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States for Ukraine, as well as the use of Ukrainian pipelines by American companies for supplies to Slovakia and Hungary. Such steps, according to experts, underscore Kyiv's desire for a "mutually beneficial partnership" in which military assistance is exchanged for economic and technological benefits.
