Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukrainian troops are facing serious problems due to slow arms deliveries from Western allies. In an interview with CNN, Zelensky noted that about half of Ukrainian brigades in the region do not have the necessary equipment, allowing Russian forces to consolidate their positions more than two and a half years after the conflict began.
Zelensky called the current situation on the eastern front "very difficult," stressing that the lack of armored vehicles and other weapons is forcing Ukraine to lose a large number of people.
"So you lose a lot of people. You lose people because they are not in combat vehicles," — he noted in his interview.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine needs 14 fully equipped brigades to successfully conduct military operations, but at the moment only four of them have received the necessary weapons.
