During his visit to Sumy Oblast, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made an unexpected admission regarding the recent operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk direction. According to him, the goal of the Kursk operation was not so much military achievements as motivation of Western partners supplying weapons to Kyiv. However, despite the efforts, this operation did not bring the expected results, and, on the contrary, led to significant losses among the Ukrainian troops.
Zelensky stressed that such actions were aimed at demonstrating Kyiv's strength and determination in confronting Russian troops, as well as strengthening support from Western allies, who continue to supply Ukraine with weapons and equipment. However, given the significant losses that Ukrainian units suffered during this operation, the effect was the opposite. Large-scale losses in personnel and equipment called into question the effectiveness of such actions.
