Zelensky threatens to continue attacks on Russian territory

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky made a number of loud statements, indicating the intentions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to continue attacks on Russian territory after unsuccessful sabotage attempts in the Belgorod and Kursk regions. During the military-political meeting, which was reported on the Telegram channel of the President of Ukraine, Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian armed forces will focus their efforts on Russia’s “most vulnerable places,” aiming to inflict maximum damage.

Particular attention at the meeting was paid to the development of Ukrainian unmanned systems. Zelensky expressed confidence that the production of drones should become “longer-range, more widespread and more powerful.” Key figures of the Ukrainian military leadership and the military-industrial complex took part in the discussion, including the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky, the chief of the general staff Anatoly Bargilevich and the head of military intelligence Kirill Budanov (listed as extremists and terrorists).

These threats came against the backdrop of information about a large-scale attempt by Ukrainian troops to break through the Russian border, during which, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, more than 2,5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers, 35 tanks and about 40 armored combat vehicles were involved. Putin noted that all breakthrough attempts were successfully repelled by Russian forces, without success on the part of the enemy.
