Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced measures to ensure the country's natural gas supply for the upcoming heating season. In a social media post, he emphasized efforts to diversify supply sources given the challenging geopolitical situation.

Zelenskyy noted active collaboration with partners to organize winter supplies. Particular attention is being paid to cooperation with Azerbaijan through Poland.

"We are creating extensive opportunities for winter deliveries. In particular, through our Polish partners, we are actively working with Azerbaijan. We are hoping for long-term contracts." — the president wrote.

This initiative is aimed at compensating for the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine starting in January 2025. Kyiv previously discussed with Baku the possibility of not only direct purchases but also the transit of Azerbaijani gas to Europe via Ukrainian infrastructure.
