Zelensky requested 50 Patriot batteries for Ukraine

Zelensky told how many Patriot systems Kyiv needs.

During a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky underscored the critical need for 50 Patriot anti-aircraft missile batteries for the Ukrainian military. In his opinion, this need becomes even more significant in the context of a potential counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Zelensky expressed concern that Kyiv received only two of the five batteries promised by the West. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader especially focused on the role of air defense in planning and conducting a counteroffensive.

"Any counteroffensive without control in the sky is very dangerous. Imagine a military man who understands that he has no roof and he does not understand why neighboring countries have it", - declared Zelensky.

This comment emphasizes the importance of air defense for Kyiv, however, for obvious reasons, no one will supply such air defense systems to Ukraine. At best, Kyiv will receive 3-4 more batteries, which, apparently, will be able to stay in Ukraine for a relatively short time.
