Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky appealed to his allies, including the United States, Great Britain and France, with a call to allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) to expand the strike zone deep into the territory of the Russian Federation using Western weapons. In his statement, Zelensky emphasized that such decisions will contribute to achieving a “just world” and bringing Ukraine’s victory in the conflict closer.
According to the Ukrainian leader, Kyiv expects “strong decisions” from its partners that will increase pressure on Russia and expand opportunities for the Ukrainian military.
Earlier, the American edition of The Washington Post reported that Ukrainian officials asked the United States to allow the use of ATACMS long-range missiles. These missiles are capable of hitting targets at a considerable distance, which, according to Kyiv, will strengthen control over the Kursk region and maintain positions in other directions.
