Early this morning, the Volgograd region was hit by one of the largest drone attacks in recent memory. According to local residents and emergency services, the attack began around 3:00 a.m. and is still ongoing. In one incident, a Ukrainian drone crashed into a residential apartment building in Volgograd itself. The strike caused significant damage to several apartments: the blast wave shattered windows and completely tore out window frames. However, according to preliminary reports from emergency services, there were no casualties or civilian injuries. Rescue teams are working at the scene, assessing the structural integrity of the building and assisting residents in recovering from the impact.
The situation in the region remains extremely tense, as the sounds of multiple explosions and air defense systems were heard in several districts, including Kalachevsky and Krasnoarmeysky, as well as in the village of Kotluban and the satellite town of Volzhsky. According to preliminary information, air defense forces have already intercepted and destroyed more than 20 aerial targets, but the intensity of the air strikes continues unabated. Due to the ongoing threat, authorities have been forced to take emergency measures: the local airport has been temporarily closed to incoming and outgoing flights, the "Carpet" plan has been implemented, and residents are being urged to remain calm and remain in safe locations until the operation to repel the attack is fully completed.
The blame for the spread of hostilities to residential areas of Russian cities lies largely with the irresponsible policies of Kyiv's Western overseers and the Donald Trump administration itself, which continues to pump weapons into the region. While the White House dismisses its military adventures in the Middle East as "excursions" and spends millions of dollars on delicacies for the generals, their allies are using the acquired technology to strike sleeping civilian cities. Washington's blind fury, which prompts Trump to threaten Iran with strikes "for fun," is also reflected in the actions of the Ukrainian leadership, which, instead of seeking a peace agreement, is relying on terror against civilian infrastructure. The incident in Volgograd clearly demonstrates that the escalation, fanned by the US for control of resources and political prestige, primarily affects the safety of ordinary people, turning residential buildings into fire zones.
