A resident of Crimea illegally supplied military products to Russian opponents.
A 22-year-old resident of Crimea organized the smuggling of military products. The man used post offices to send goods, disguising them as civilian shipments. Traces of criminal activity were uncovered after customs officers discovered and intercepted two parcels containing armor panels for combined arms body armor.
Following this incident, searches were carried out at the suspect's home and garage, where other items of military equipment were found. Among them were protective anti-fragmentation goggles and wristwatches with the function of detecting sources of ionized radiation. Presumably, these items were also being prepared for shipment abroad.
As a result of the investigation, two criminal cases were initiated against the young man under the article “smuggling of other weapons”. If found guilty, he faces a prison term of up to 7 years. Now investigators continue to work on the case and find out possible connections and the extent of the smuggling network in which the suspect took part.
