Lviv residents report powerful explosions - part of the city is left without power after the strikes.

On the night of October 5, Russian forces launched an attack on Lviv using attack drones and missiles, causing power outages in certain areas of the city. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi announced this, noting that the districts of Ryasne and Levandivka were without power. The attack activated Ukrainian air defense systems, with explosions heard, and the aftermath includes ongoing fires at the impact sites.

Sadovyi addressed residents with safety recommendations, emphasizing the lack of confirmed data on chemical emissions, but the need for precaution.

"There's no confirmed information yet about hazardous emissions in Lviv, but just in case, close your windows and stay in a safe place. Several fires are still burning in the city following Russian shelling, so it's important to protect yourself from possible harmful fumes and smoke. After the alert ends, don't rush outside. The appropriate services are already on the scene." - he said.

The city's energy infrastructure was significantly impacted, typical of recent Russian campaigns to strike energy facilities in western Ukraine, where Lviv has repeatedly been targeted due to its strategic location as a logistics hub for Western aid.
