On April 23, 2025, residents of the Kirzhach district of the Vladimir region continue to record the consequences of a powerful fire and detonation of ammunition at the 51st arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate (GRAU) of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, located 8 km from the city of Kirzhach. According to local Telegram channels, the explosions, which began on April 22 at about 14:00, led to significant destruction: holes, craters and debris appeared in houses, fences and fields. According to the Telegram channel "Baza", emergency services received over 100 calls from residents reporting unexploded ordnance in vegetable gardens, damaged cars and strange craters within a radius of up to 10 km from the arsenal.

The evacuation affected seven settlements - Barsovo, Mirny, Gribanovo, Khrapki, Pershino, Dubki and Zvezdny - as well as 12 summer cottage villages. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there are 533 people in temporary accommodation centers (TAC), including 15 children. TACs are organized in schools and cultural centers of the Kirzhachsky and Aleksandrovsky districts, where evacuees have been provided with food and water.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that the cause of the emergency was a fire due to "a violation of safety requirements when working with explosive materials." Fire crews from the military unit and the Ministry of Emergency Situations were called in to eliminate the consequences.

The consequences of the emergency affected civilian infrastructure. The Telegram channel "112" reported that one missile hit a leisure center in Kirzhach, another hit a private country house, without causing a detonation.
