Residents of Sevastopol and surrounding areas reported a series of loud explosions over the peninsula on the night of November 7. Eyewitnesses attributed them to repelling drone strikes.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the interception of targets.
"During the past night, air defense systems on duty destroyed five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the territory of the Republic of Crimea," — the department’s official statement says.
According to sources close to military circles, the attack's primary target may have been Sevastopol or its environs, but the exact locations are not being disclosed. No casualties or damage were reported. Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev declined to comment on the situation.
