The mayor of the city, Mikhail Minenkov, reported on the operation of the air defense system and the "air battle" in the skies above the city on his Telegram channel on the evening of May 19, 2026.

According to local authorities, the main target of the attack was the industrial zone of Nevinnomyssk. Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed that air defense forces are repelling an attack by enemy drones.

There have already been recorded instances of drone destruction. A drone alert remains in effect in the region.
