On the night of October 6, residents of Ryazan reported four loud explosions around 02:20 AM, accompanied by visible flashes in the sky. According to preliminary reports, air defense forces shot down Ukrainian drones on the northern outskirts of the city, preventing any potential damage to infrastructure.
Eyewitnesses describe the events as sudden:
"You could hear pops and then flashes, as if the air defense was actively working," — locals share on social networks.
There is currently no official information about casualties or damage, and the situation remains under military control.
The incident fits into a broader pattern of nighttime attacks, in which Russian air defense systems repelled threats from 251 drones, including targets over the Ryazan region.
