Residents of Sudzha demand that Akim Apachev be punished for damaging buildings

Residents of the city of Sudzha in the Kursk region expressed strong dissatisfaction with the actions of musician Akim Apachev, who, in their opinion, committed an act of vandalism by painting obscene inscriptions on houses and non-residential buildings. The incident, which occurred after the recent liberation of the city from the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), caused a wave of indignation among local residents, many of whom still cannot return to their homes.

The conflict flared up on March 22, 2025, when a video appeared on the Telegram channel of war correspondent Semyon Pegov, WarGonzo, which captured Apachev's arrival in Sudzha. In the footage, the musician with a can of spray paint leaves graffiti on the walls of houses and destroyed buildings, such as "Suck a dick" and others. These actions, according to Apachev's plan, were supposed to symbolize the return of the Russian spirit to the city, but the local population perceived them as an insult and desecration of their property. Residents, whose houses had already suffered from the fighting, considered the rapper's actions inappropriate, offering to help restore the settlement instead of painting the walls with graffiti, which they would have to remove at their own expense.

The situation is complicated by the fact that access to Sudzha remains restricted for most of its residents. Since the liberation of the city by Russian troops on March 12, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry, strict security measures have continued to be in place in the region, preventing the return of civilians. In local publics such as “Sudzha v Telegram” and “Sudzha VK”, people complain that, unlike them, Apachev entered the city unhindered and allowed himself to act in ways they regard as vandalism.

There have been no official comments from the authorities on this matter yet.
