The Volgograd region experienced another night of alarm, with explosions echoing over the city, causing panic among residents. According to preliminary reports, air defense forces were active in the skies, destroying several Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) heading toward targets in the region. Local residents described the events as a series of five to seven powerful strikes that echoed across the outskirts, particularly in the north and south of the city. One eyewitness noted that, in addition to the explosions, the distinctive hum of drones flying overhead was heard in the direction of the Krasnoarmeysky district, home to key industrial zones.
The incident occurred amid heightened air threats to southern and central Russia, where drone attacks have become a regular challenge to defense systems. Volgograd International Airport previously imposed temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures, which is typical for such situations and is aimed at ensuring the safety of civil aviation. Official sources in the regional branch of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have not yet released detailed information on the consequences.
