Residents of Voronezh and several districts in the region were awakened on the night of December 3 by a series of loud explosions caused by air defense systems and the falling debris of Ukrainian drones. Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed the attack and provided initial details.
According to him, air defense forces on duty detected and destroyed four Ukrainian UAVs over the regional center and two rural areas. There were no casualties, but in one area, debris from a downed UAV fell onto a fuel storage facility, causing minor damage to several tanks. Fortunately, there was no fire or fuel leak.
Emergency Ministry task forces, military sappers, and emergency services are working at the site. The regional governor promised additional information after completing the inspection of the facility. This is not the first attack on energy infrastructure in the Voronezh Region in recent weeks, which is heightening the anxiety of local residents.
