The S-300 air defense system was never used during the conflict in Karabakh

The source denied the use of S-300 complexes in the Karabakh conflict.

Despite the previously published video footage from the suburbs of Yerevan, which allegedly captured the launch of the S-300 "Favorite" anti-aircraft guided missiles, which either intercepted the "Lora" tactical missile or hit a drone, it became known that during the armed conflict in Russian and Soviet-made S-300 complexes have never been used in Karabakh.

The source claims that the Armenian side mainly used the Osa anti-aircraft missile systems, however, the latter demonstrated extremely low efficiency in the fight against both enemy aircraft and drones, as evidenced by the large number of destroyed complexes of this type.

The reasons why the S-300 complexes were not used are not disclosed, however, it is noteworthy that the Azerbaijani military, with the help of drones, managed to destroy at least one mobile launcher of the S-300 air defense system and at least one radar, which is part of the the composition of this complex, which caused serious criticism regarding Russian weapons.

Nevertheless, according to experts, the refusal to use the S-300 was caused by the lack of such a need, since most of the air targets did not seem dangerous or were hardly noticeable.
