Turkish drone

ZRPK "Pantsir-S" shot down by a Turkish drone that tried to strike at Syria

The Turkish UAV tried to strike at Syria, but was shot down by the Pantsir-S air defense missile system.

Against the background of the counter-terrorist operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in the northwestern part of Syria, it became known that Turkish mercenaries tried to use a certain Turkish attack unmanned aerial vehicle. According to a number of sources, the warehouse of these drones was destroyed days earlier by strikes of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This drone did not have time to complete the task, as it entered the area of operation of the Pantsir-S air defense missile system and was instantly shot down.

At the moment, it remains unknown what type of drone is in question, however, according to a number of statements, the aircraft was quite large, although we are not talking about the use of the Turkish UAV Bayraktar TB2. Nevertheless, the Syrian military command confirmed the destruction of the UAV.

“Yesterday, throughout the entire flight, the trail of the airspace violator was continuously monitored. We were on the verge of destroying it. "- said in the message.

Today, terrorists and Turkish mercenaries are actively using Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles - both military and assembled from ready-made parts. Thanks to the deployment of a network of air defense systems in the region, most of the drones are destroyed in advance. The electronic warfare systems used by the Syrian and Russian military often lead to the fact that drones crash even before they get into the detection zone of air defense systems.
