ZRPK "Pantsir-S1" shot down a Turkish drone Bayraktar TB2 over northern Iraq

The Pantsir-C1 air defense missile system, acquired from Russia, successfully shot down the Turkish Bayraktar TB2.

The Turkish Bayraktar TB2 attack and reconnaissance drones have again lost their reputation after it became known that one of these drones was destroyed by a Russian-made air defense missile system over northern Iraq.

In the video presented, you can see that the Bayraktar TB2 drone was hit from the ground by fired projectiles. According to a number of assumptions, this could well have been done from an anti-aircraft gun. Judging by the fact that the fire was fired from a southern direction, it was probably the Pantsir-C1 complex that worked. Previously, the Iraqi military acquired such complexes from Russia.

According to the comments to the submitted video, the drone was destroyed a few days ago. There is also an alternative version: we are talking about a drone, which was also shot down over the northern part of Iraq, but in May of this year.

One way or another, experts draw attention to the fact that the effectiveness of the Russian Pantsir-S air defense missile systems is quite high. Moreover, given the possibility of integrating these complexes with long-range radars, it is possible to attack Bayraktar TB2 UAVs long before the latter come within striking distance, which, by the way, has already been demonstrated in Syria and Libya.
