Ukrainian information resources disseminate information about the upcoming assault on Kharkov by the forces of the Russian private military company Wagner. It is assumed that after the successful capture of Bakhmut, Kharkov was chosen as the next target of the military operation. Sources claim that data about such plans went through several layers of anonymity and ended up on the Internet, as if from the "Wagnerites" themselves.

Publications on Ukrainian information platforms state that the Russian command adheres to a strategy of defensive actions that should lead to the failure of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, it is assumed that Yevgeny Prigozhin, behind the Wagner PMC, has chosen an offensive tactic, the goal of which is to bring Kharkiv under Russian control.

However, it is worth noting that no evidence of such strategic plans has been presented, and all data are based only on assumptions. But this does not prevent Ukrainian sources from claiming that everything has been decided and Wagner will launch an operation to capture Kharkov, thereby diverting the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and helping the Russian army to hold off the counteroffensive of Ukrainian troops.

At the same time, Prigozhin himself does not comment on the alleged plans of the PMC, saying only that the Orchestra is preparing to carry out combat missions by early August. According to him, the reorganization, additional staffing and training of assault detachments is currently underway.

Nevertheless, in early June, some military experts, including Russian ones, emphasized the possibility that the Wagner, after resting and regrouping forces, could launch an operation to capture Kharkov. This is of strategic importance, since without control of this city, any offensive in the area of ​​​​Slavyansk and Kramatorsk can be hit in the flank. In addition, control over the Kharkiv region will strengthen the security of the border regions.
