Yakovlev Yak-32

Yak-32 - Soviet jet training aircraft, which is one-place version of the Yak-30. Adapted for inverted flight, Yak-32 able to perform aerobatics with long negative overload. In contrast to the Yak-30 its weight was reduced by 300 kg, flight characteristics were also better. Yak-32 - this is the first sports training aircraft in the world, who had ejection seat. However, it was not allowed for mass production.

History of the Yak-32

In 1959 year issued a decree on the establishment of sports single-seater with the designation Yak-104PS with engine RU19-300. Ahead of schedule for four and a half months, in October 13 1960 years, EDB has established the Yak-32. Its main goal - sharpening techniques perform flights on the route, in a circle, training in a variety of weather conditions, day and night, higher performance and complex maneuvers. KV Sinel'shchikov led the project, VP Vlasov - leading engineer.

The plane is not the rear cabin. It had increased to 45 kilos of fuel capacity for longer reverse maneuvers, as well as the engine, which is adapted to the product of the inverted flight.

January 4 1961, by order GKAT were built Yak-2 32 (board «70» and «60»). Both cars were FRI and OKB test in training and flight-sport options.

It is worth noting that the flight option on 555 kg was made easier by reducing the weight of the empty aircraft and fuel supply. In the embodiment, a flight was not flap aileron and dimensions were increased.

Pilots - VP Smirnov, V. Mukhin, AP Bogorodsky, Y. Petrov, pilots flying by - VM Volkov, SN Anyuhin, GM Kurkaev, AL Kolosov, IS Grigoriev. They were performed on 49 23 flight hours 22 minutes. Also in preparation for the festival in Tushino and his conduct was performed fifty five flights, which lasts an hour 23 14 minutes.

The plane was convenient and easy, resistant to overload and speed, easy to learn, with good visibility in the air and on the taxiway, a spacious cabin. The machine performs all the figures reverse and forward maneuvers and easy to deal with complex functions. At the height of 3 thousand. M was reached maximum peak speed - 663 km / h. According to experts, the aircraft can be used as an aerobatic designed for flying clubs DOSAAF. State tests that were planned for the second half of the year 1951, almost not carried out.

AS Yakovlev 1961 year demonstrated RJ Malinowski (Defense Minister) at the Central Aerodrome possible Yak-32 as cars stormtrooper experience of military operations in Vietnam. This project (Yak-32 III) has been prepared by the Design Bureau. Plane with 2-mja underwing holders was shown on the ground with the expansion of a variety of weapons.

Traction motor calculations made to 25 May 1961 years should increase to 1100 kg, fuel capacity make 726 kilos. Attack aircraft takeoff weight rose to 2580 kg (if weight weapons to 2900 kg), respectively, 300 716 or kg. At the height of 5 thousand. Km reaches a top speed up to 685 km / h.

5 August 1971 year on the orders of MAP one of the aircraft Yak-32 restored in a sports-flight version with the TRD RU19P-300. For a longer duration of inverted flight in the engine, the oil system was changed. The aircraft had the designation YAK-32P. It differed from the original Yak-32 sealed cockpit with ventilation, the presence of the ARC-15 radio compass, the "Landysh-5" radio station and the gyromagnetic compass GMK-1A. GMK-1 and ARK-15, a marker receiver with a total weight of 40 kg, were made as removable equipment for use only in flights along a certain route and in difficult weather conditions, as well as in flight operations.

Yak-32P in 1972 year has passed factory tests and controls at the festival in Tushino program demonstrated spectacular aerobatics. However, his flight evaluation was as good as that of the Yak-32. Pilots OA Bulygin, Yu Michiko carried out tests, leading engineer was I. Mozharov.

The design of the Yak-32

It is worth noting that the design of the Yak-32 is no different from the design of the Yak-30. The machine is all-metal monoplane, having a low-wing, a center-releasable. There was a minimum set of radio engineering and aviation equipment, easy ejection seat. The plane passed all the tests with confidence. Particularly worth mentioning adaptation of training machines to use unpaved airfields.

  • Basic - Yak-32 training

  • Yak-32 flight sports - weight increased by 555 kilos by replacing the radio, reducing the supply of fuel, dismantling some of the equipment. Flaps were missing, ailerons area increased.

  • Yak-32SH - a light attack aircraft.

UC 32 - training jet is perfectly suited to perform complex aerobatic maneuvers that could be made during prolonged overloads. UC 32 the world's first sports training aircraft equipped with ejection seats. However, for some reason, mass production has not gone. There were collected 3 aircraft.
One of the important qualities of Yak 32 had the opportunity to use the aircraft even unpaved airfields. The car was good. It is allowed to train pilots in extreme weather conditions, to acquire experience in performing complex aerobatics.

To me it seems to be normal model aircraft but all the same that something in it is not something ... That's take for example the wing Yak-32, it is narrow and has a strange shape for machines of this class, besides it has a constant chord without narrowing. I have not met with a similar scheme of aircraft wing. Although the design was similar in Ta 183 but there was maximally simplified ersatz why this Yak-32 I do not understand. Ta and general shape of the car is not beautiful enough, though Yakovlev never created ugly cars. The nose of the device as well in short it does not even fit the radar.
