Yakovlev Yak-35
In the early 60-ies Yakovlev Design Bureau design a new bomber-missile Yak-35 was developed. The work on the machine carried out by decree of the Ministry of Aviation of the USSR. leading designers of the Tupolev and Sukhoi were involved when creating a supersonic bomber that class.
The project included the creation of a tailless aircraft. A triangular wing shape was planned. Four jet engines were located under the wing pylons. For this machine, two engines of the R-36-41 and R-15 types were developed. Due to the fact that the empty car weighed 90 tons, the engines had a capacity of 16 150 kgf. A design feature was the use of a more durable and reliable material instead of aluminum, namely heat-resistant steel.
The structure of weapons planned to include anti-missiles X-45. Supersonic missile Yak-35 can manage two pilots. According to the calculations of designers flight range of this unit should be 7,2 thousand kilometers. Normal speed is at the height of 5 3 kilometers must be thousands of km / h.
At the beginning of the year 1961 35 Yak-project was rejected by the Council of Ministers in favor of the machine under the designation Sukhoi T-4. Ultimately, the Yak-35 has not been made.

In the fall of 1961, the USSR Ministry of Aviation Industry issued a design task for the design bureau of the supersonic bomber, the missile carrier, on the basis of the design bureau of Tupolev, Yakovlev and Sukhoi. Yakovlev Design Bureau has developed a project for the Yak-35 aircraft, the main structural material of which was heat-resistant steel. Yak 35 was designed as a bomber - a rocket carrier. The machine was assembled by 4 engines P - 36 - 41 and P15 by P. Kolesov. Weapons were planned to include anti-ship missiles of class X-45. There were two pilots to control the car. In 1962, a scientific technical council was held, at which the machines of all the contestants were examined. After a careful study of all the works, Yakovlev's project was rejected and did not return to him any more.
You can talk a lot about not created air apparatus or utopian ideas of the Soviet designers. It is in this plane and the plane began to project Yak-35. Perhaps it was necessary to make a huge and powerful aircraft to bomb and destroy the enemy. But weight 90 tone is too much, this machine could become an easy target for the enemy. Although planned high flight speed, but not the fact that the objectives have been achieved. Also in 60-e it would be difficult to find materials that could withstand such an overload without breaking.
