The Prime Minister of Armenia confirmed the use of Su-30SM fighters against Azerbaijan.

The situation on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan forced Armenia to start using its modern weapons, in particular, Russian Su-30SM fighters, purchased about a year ago from Russia, were lifted from the airbases of this country. The Armenian Ministry of Defense confirmed the start of the use of these combat aircraft against Azerbaijan, which indicates a significant escalation of the situation.

“Su-30SM fighters of the Armed Forces of Armenia carry out planned flights patrolling the sky over the republic. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan posted the video of the flights of these 4+ generation combat vehicles on his Facebook page. “Su-30SM are on combat alert - to ensure the inviolability of the air borders of Armenia,” Pashinyan signed the video “- this is reported by the publication "Sputnik".

To date, only four Su-30 SM fighters are in service with the Armenian Air Force, however. In the coming years, it is planned to supply another 8 fighters of this model to this country, which will significantly enhance the capabilities of the Armenian army.

In terms of the number of military aviation means of the Armenian Air Force, they are significantly inferior to the Azerbaijani Air Force, however, to date, Su-30SM fighters actually cross out this advantage of Baku

At the moment, negotiations between diplomats of both states are ongoing, however, no significant steps have yet been achieved.
