Russian air defense systems successfully repelled an attempted drone attack over the territory of Tatarstan. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the incident occurred around 11:20 Moscow time, when a Ukrainian UAV was shot down, which, according to the department, was sent to carry out a terrorist attack on targets on the territory of the Russian Federation.

This incident is not the first incident involving the use of drones in the region. The Ministry of Defense previously reported a similar attack on April 2, which wounded 14 people, including two teenagers, in the Alabuga special economic zone in Tatarstan.

To ensure flight safety and prevent such incidents, the Federal Air Transport Agency has limited the operation of airports in Tatarstan. These measures made it possible to coordinate actions and strengthen airspace control measures.

According to Avia.pro sources, the most likely target of the attack could be TAIF Group of Companies or the Kazan Aviation Plant, but there is no reliable confirmation of this data yet.
