The American fleet refused to allow the territorial waters of Bulgaria.

Contrary to the fact that Bulgaria is a member of NATO, it became known that the authorities of this country refused to provide Washington with their naval bases and issue permits for the construction of new ones. The reason for this was the unwillingness to create additional tension in the region.

“The Black Sea should remain for yachts and sailing ships”- said the Prime Minister of Bulgaria.

NATO has already reacted to the decision of Bulgaria, calling it absolutely unacceptable and strategically short-sighted, alluding to the need for military containment of Russia.

“We believe that the statements of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov are unacceptable and strategically short-sighted. A strategic imbalance in favor of Russia categorically contradicts our national interests ”, the North Atlantic Alliance said in a statement.

Experts believe that in reality Bulgaria simply did not want to become a target for Russian missiles deployed both on mainland Russia and on the territory of Crimea.
