Against the background of successful tests of the Russian Zircon hypersonic cruise missile, the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy can be additionally equipped with 7 more submarines, which will be armed with Zircon cruise missiles. The need to expand the combat capabilities of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia was announced against the backdrop of aggressive actions by NATO.

As noted by Russian military experts, today the capabilities of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy are quite sufficient to ensure the security of the Russian borders from any threat. Nevertheless, in the near future such countries as Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia may join NATO, which creates an additional threat. In this regard, the expansion of the submarine fleet of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy from 7 existing to 14 submarines and arming the latter with Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles is a priority task.

According to experts, the appearance of hypersonic weapons in the Black Sea region will not only make NATO more accommodating, but will also allow, in the event of a conflict, to deliver accurate and operational strikes against the enemy, for example, by destroying naval bases, command posts, airfields, etc.

To date, it is known that it is planned to expand the capabilities of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy by adopting patrol ships, small missile ships, and corvettes. It is likely that the plans of the Russian military command and the construction of additional submarines, especially given the expansion of the zone of influence to the Mediterranean Sea.
