There will no longer be a Russian naval base in Sudan.

The head of the General Staff of the Sudanese Armed Forces officially confirmed the information that the country's authorities are revising the agreement previously reached between Sudan and Russia on the construction of a Russian naval base on the territory of this African state. According to information available to the news agency Avia.pro, the decision concerns not only the construction of a naval base, but also the presence of the Russian military on the territory of the country.

Earlier, the news agency Avia.pro has already reported, citing a high-ranking official of this African state, that the country's authorities are not interested in the emergence of a Russian naval base and propose to limit themselves only to military-technical cooperation with Russia, stressing that the Russian side is just insisting on existing agreements.

Several weeks ago, the Sudanese media reported that the country's authorities demanded that the Russian military take away all military equipment and weapons delivered to Sudan, which were allegedly loaded on board the Ivan Khurs ship and taken out of the African state, but the Russian the party did not comment on this data.
