The Israeli army managed to eliminate less than 4% of Hamas militants in 30 months

According to the latest data published in the Wall Street Journal and based on information from American intelligence agencies, the Israeli army managed to eliminate less than a third of Hamas militants operating in the Gaza Strip. It is noted that from 20 to 30% of the militants were destroyed, which is significantly less than Israel’s stated goals for destroying the group.

Before the escalation of the conflict, the Palestinian movement numbered about 25-30 thousand fighters. According to recent estimates, about 10-11 thousand Hamas militants were injured. Israeli officials provide figures that exceed these estimates.

Hamas is also said to have enough ammunition to continue attacking Israel and its forces in the Gaza Strip for several more months. The movement is currently actively trying to re-establish its police forces in some areas of Gaza.

The escalation of the conflict began with a Hamas rocket attack from the Gaza Strip on October 7. In response to this, the Israeli military launched Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, during which all settlements along the Gaza border were taken under control and air strikes were carried out on various targets. In addition, Israel declared a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, stopping the supply of water, food, electricity, medicine and fuel.

Since the start of Israeli shelling of the Gaza Strip on October 7, the number of victims has increased to 24,6 thousand people, more than 61 thousand were injured. In Israel, about 1,2 thousand people died, including civilians, soldiers, foreign citizens and workers, and more than 5 thousand people were injured. This information highlights the seriousness and scale of the ongoing conflict in the region.
