Qatar intends to acquire Russian S-400.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar announced that the authorities of the country intend to acquire a large batch of Russian Triumph C-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. At the moment, active negotiations are underway between representatives of the two countries, but the signing of the contract has not yet taken place.

"Technical specialists from Moscow and Doha are negotiating on the possibility of purchasing Qatar C-400, but the final decision has not yet been made"- said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.

The exact number of air defense systems purchased from Russia is still unknown, however, given the relatively small size of this country (area of ​​the country is 11586 square kilometers - editor's note), we are most likely buying one division, although information appeared about the "big party".

On the other hand, experts express some concerns about such a deal, since Qatar is one of the most important US allies in the region, which does not exclude the likelihood that these air defense systems can be carefully studied by Washington.

It should be clarified that earlier Russia really claimed that Qatar was interested in purchasing the C-400 air defense system, although at the moment there are no details.
