In Kamchatka, a deputy and the mayor of Yelizovo were placed under house arrest

In the Kamchatka Territory, a court decided to place Artem Gagloshvili, a deputy and the head of the administration of the urban settlement of Elizovo, under house arrest on charges of hooliganism. This was reported by the press service of the regional Investigative Committee of Russia.

The incident happened in July 2023, when Gagloshvili was not yet mayor, but was a deputy of the assembly. He became mayor in November 2023.

“According to the investigation, a 40-year-old man, being a deputy of the meeting of deputies of the Elizovsky urban settlement, in the period from July 22 to July 23, 2023, violating public order, out of hooligan motives, struck multiple blows to the head of a man who was stopping his actions. A criminal case has been opened. with operational support from employees of the regional departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia,” the department clarified.

The incident occurred in July 2023, when Gagloshvili did not yet hold the position of mayor, but was a deputy of the local assembly. He became mayor in November 2023.

The press service noted that a criminal case has been opened regarding this incident under the article “Hooliganism” (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The detained person was found. Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being considered, and investigative measures are being carried out.

The regional prosecutor's office announced the details of what happened. “He reacted to the comments of one of the owners of the establishment with aggression, hitting the victim in the head several times. His actions were stopped by eyewitnesses to the incident,” the department noted, adding that the investigation of the case is under their control.

According to information from RIA Novosti, in July 2023, Gagloshvili started a fight in a recreation area in the Elizovsky district. Additionally, on February 1, he refused to undergo a medical examination for the presence of alcohol in his blood after his car was stopped by traffic police officers.
